Tendring District Council (TDC) honoured its outstanding employees at the eighth annual Tendring Stars Awards at Clacton’s Princes Theatre.
The dazzling event on Thursday, 16 January, celebrated the dedication and hard work of TDC staff, with winners and runners-up announced across various categories.
The ceremony was filled with excitement as trophies and certificates were presented to employees who have shown exceptional commitment.
This year, a new category was introduced to recognise 'new hires' who have made a significant impact in a short time.
Long service awards were also a highlight, with ten employees honoured for their remarkable 30 and 35 years of service at TDC.
Ian Davidson, TDC Chief Executive, expressed his admiration for all the nominees.
He said: "Our entire workforce is committed to serving our community, but Stars is about giving particular recognition to some individuals and teams who have shone exceptionally brightly over the past year.
“We are incredibly proud of all the nominees and finalists who have demonstrated outstanding dedication and excellence.
“Hearing about their contributions to the public, their colleagues, and TDC was truly inspiring.
“Your hard work and commitment do not go unnoticed. Thank you for your exceptional service, and we hope you enjoy this well-deserved celebration of your achievements."
A special acknowledgment was given to Carol Magnus, who is retiring this month, for being the driving force behind the Tendring Star Awards for many years.
The Young Achiever and Unsung Hero awards were voted on by TDC staff, while a judging panel selected the winners and runners-up for the other categories.
Adding to the great atmosphere, entertainment was provided by TDC's very own house band, 10TDC, featuring Amy Henshaw, Gary Guiver, Helen Fowler, Jamie Timms, John Fox, Mike Carran, and Sean Biswell.
Catering was provided by Georgia’s Biscuits, with trophies from Colchester Trophies and photography by Steve Brading Photography / PagePix Ltd.
